Which is better, N95 face mask or KN95 mask ?
Recently, the new coronavirus（COVID-19） virus attacks, experts suggest the need to wear a mask. There are several types of masks, so what is the difference between the most common KN95 and N95 masks?
Several masks commonly used in the market are civilian masks / medical masks / surgical surgical masks / N95 masks / NK95 masks / FFP1 masks / FFP2 masks / FFP3 masks.
Today we will explain the difference between N95 masks / NK95 masks / FFP1 masks / FFP2 masks / FFP3.
The letters in front of each mask type represent different national standards.
N series is American standard,
KN series is Chinese standard,
The FFP series is a European standard,
The KF series is a Korean standard.
The latter number refers to the protection ability, the greater the protection level is, the higher the protection level is. 95 refers to the ability to filter out more than 95% of non-oily particles. The 90 series has a higher degree of protection than 95, but can also resist more than 90% of particles. In the FFP series, 2 (ffp2) basically corresponds to 95, and 3 (ffp3) has a higher filtering efficiency, reaching 99%. A V at the end of the number indicates a breathing valve.
Example: we can understand it this way;
KN95 Face mask : Chinese standard, Face mask capable of filtering out more than 95% of non-oily particles
N95 Face mask : American standard, Face mask capable of filtering out more than 95% of non-oily particles
In fact, KN95 and N95 have the same filtering capabilities. But due to different certificates, the price of N95 mask is twice that of KN95 mask
If the filtering capabilities are sorted, we can simply understand as follows: FFP3 face mask> FFP2 face mask= N95 face mask= KN95 face mask= KF94 face mask>FFP1 face mask.
